Influenced by Toulouse-Lautrec, Renior, Rodin and Louis Legrand, Chimot was a painter, graphic artist and illustrator who worked primarily in the '30's and '40's. With great originality and subtle charm, Chimot represented nature, the human form and emotion with a sure rhythm, portraying Parisian lifestyle with impeccable harmony. As a meticulous draftsman, he rendered his subjects with a respect for the human body that was based in scientific knowledge as well as artistic passion.
His work ranged from landscapes, genre scenes, semi-erotic portraits.
