This limited edition was the result of begging Cassidy for another to follow
"Teach Me To Surf, Sugar Daddy. That image sold out so fast and was such a big success that we were all waiting for the next one. Cassidy was reluctant but after painting this image as a commission, we talked him into letting us print it. It is really one of the few paintings that spoke of Cailfornia, reflected the color pallette of our state and also features the famous San Diego surf spot, "Swamiis Beach" in the background.
We published the image as a limited edition giclee of 295 signed and numbered examples in the regular edition (13.5x31"); as well as 50 s/n in the Deluxe, which is what is offered here.
One of only a few prints we have that were printed before the deadline of Dec. 31, 2004. This one measures 24 x 42" inches and features hand deckled edges, printed on 285# Lysonic watercolor paper and special prepared archival inks.
As Seventh Heaven Publishers, we published the work of Michael Cassidy for over a decade.
Cassidy was world famous for his figurative work featuring lovely Hawaiian wahines as well as his compositions that were mindful of early 20th Century travel posters. He retired from doing prints in 2004. Heir apparent to the signature composiiton of Cassidy’s entitled “Teach Me to Surf, Sugar Daddy,” this piece features the same elements of that poster, suing an Esther Williams-like model and the signature long board.
